The Reveal feature enables users to extract data from the Synthesio platform in an even more customisable way than what is offered in Reports. This can be the starting point for more advanced data manipulation outside of the dashboard. 

The Reveal feature in the dashboard is accessed within the Share section. Within it, you can select necessary Dimensions and Metrics, and export the results in Excel or CSV formats. Reveal allows you to configure the extract using a pivot table-style interface, giving you the power to slice-and-dice your data exactly how you want, without being constrained by widgets or pre-built metrics. 

Essentially, Reveal is a Business Intelligence feature that lets you explore your data in many ways. 

Let’s walk through how to build the export that you need. 

Reveal is very simple: 

You should select dimensions and metrics that you want to monitor as KPIs, select filters to narrow the results if you don’t want to extract from the full data set, and finally Export the results. 

First Choose your dimensions: 

Dimensions are the filters available in Synthesio, for example: a Period of time / topics or classifiers / Sentiment / Social Author / Country / Language.  

Then select the desired metrics: 

Metrics are performance indicators linked to the mentions such as: number of views / number of interactions / engagement rate etc.  

A preview of the table that will be extracted is displayed as you make your choices.
